Keiko Shin Blog

After the younger competitors had finished competing at the UTKA State Championship and received their medals, one of our parents was taking pictures of the group. While the pictures were being taken, a little boy (not from Keiko Shin) wanted to be in the group photo. This child had not won a medal during the tournament, so one of our students, Jacob D. (first time competitor) took off one of his medals and kindly gave it to him to wear so that he could be in the picture with a medal. This selfless act of kindness was later learned when our parent overheard the child’s mom say that it was the nicest thing that she had ever seen.

This simple gesture brightened the day of a competitor and showed a true example of sportsmanship, future leader and what Keiko Shin is truly all about!

We are extremely proud of you Jacob! Thank you for representing the REAL SPIRIT of KEIKO SHIN.
